We were welcomed at his house in Cuernavaca Mexico. The first impression after entering the living room, was that we were invited to a place that was shaped by a man who dedicated his life to the art of dwelling. This was Jean Robert’s last filmed interview.
Here you can see an edited version of this encounter and a short recorded conversion around the table.

What a wonderful reminder of a beautiful mind in thought …. Jean Robert will be missed.
Who is Jean Robert? His thinking on the vanishing clergyman is new to me,
Jean Robert lived in Cuernavaca and was close to Illich during the days of his Energy and Equity and later during Illich’s thinking about the history of technology. Much of Jean’s previously unpublished papers have been printed in issues of the International Journal of Illich studies. The two part special issues recently published comprise many of his papers in both Spanish and English. (v.8 no.1 & 2. October 2021)

I am in the middle of trying to get Jean’s important book on Systems translated into English.
